A few days after becoming a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, JAY-Z has added another title to his repertoire: Instagram user! The 51-year-old has famously stayed off the platform and most social media, sending shock waves on Twitter this March after posting his first tweets in over two years.

Now, Hov is the proud owner of his own Instagram account: @jayz. The hip hop mogul launched his profile on Tuesday afternoon (Nov. 2) in celebration of the Netflix release of The Harder They Fall, which he co-produced with James Lassiter and Lawrence Bender.

On his Instagram Story, Hov posted a countdown clock for the anticipated arrival of the film, which was released on Netflix today (Nov. 3). His first and only Instagram post was also a flyer for the movie with “The Harder They Fall” written in the caption.

Notably, JAY-Z only follows one person on the platform, his wife Beyoncé.

As reported by REVOLT, Hov attended The Harder They Fall world premiere at the BFI London Film Festival on Oct. 6. The Jeymes Samuel-directed Western hit select theaters last month; starring Idris Elba, Regina King, Jonathan Majors, LaKeith Stanfield and more.

At The Harder They Fall world premiere, Hov reflected on the importance of seeing Black representation in Western movies.

“Just to see us represented, you know? With a lot of films we didn’t see ourselves in Westerns, as if we didn’t exist,” he said at the time. “It is almost odd. People think that it’s like a caricature, that they are playing roles, but they’re not playing roles.”

“These names like Stagecoach Mary, all the actors in this, they really existed in this time,” he continued. “So, just see us represented and see that we have voices. There were so many towns that people didn’t know about. So, to bring interesting stories to the big screen and also educate — any time you can do that is just a blessing.”
