On Nov. 12, Konshens will liberate his new album Red Reign, which will contain the previously released singles “Pay For It” with Spice and Rvssian, “Boom Bang” with Davido, and “Can’t Stay Sober.” Today (Oct. 27), the Jamaican star keeps the momentum going with a new banger titled “Take A Shot,” a perfect theme song for an energetic night out on the dance floor.

“Take A Shot” also sees a matching visual that’s set in Miami — the perfect location for such an infectious cut. Shot by Shawn William, viewers can see Konshens in different locations while a group of beautiful woman turn up in celebration of someone’s birthday. As the song instructs, there’s plenty of shot-taking, which leads to some provocative moves from the clip’s co-stars. There’s also plenty of footage showing a bevy of beauties twerking on four-wheelers and catching vibes at a lavish pool party.

Konshens further explained the creation of said video to REVOLT:

“Since COVID restrictions have been lifted in Florida, the club scene in Miami has had a revival. I wanted to make an anthem for women to go out with their friends and behave a little badly. It is the type of video that shows how some women behave when they think nobody is watching.”

Upon its eventual arrival, Red Reign will follow last year’s Soca Virgin, which contained 15 cuts and a slew of contributions from Jonny Blaze, Nailah Blackman, Busy Signal, Skinny Fabolous, Travis World, Stadic, and more. Prior to that, Konshens made waves with projects like 2018’s It Feel Good and 2019’s Badman Vs. Nice Guy — those not familiar with his solo work have almost certainly heard his vocals on some well-known hits from the likes of Doja Cat, Charli XCX, Nipsey Hussle, and Cardi B.
