After dropping a freestyle on the L.A. Leakers earlier this week, Big Sean’s bars received praise from many, including Queensbridge’s own Nas. On Thursday (Oct. 21), Sean revealed that King’s Disease emcee, who was mentioned in the cypher, reached out to him to compliment him on the lyricism and delivery he displayed on the platform.

“Nas just txt me saying ‘you murdered these freestyles thanks for pushing us all,’” he tweeted. “That’s crazy AF to me when I really thought about Nas txt’n me that, I’m at the crib right now in Detroit n I’m just feeling grateful I actually am doing what I said I would. Shit feel like a dream.”

While expressing gratitude for Nas’ message, the Detroit star took some time to address some of the hate that has come his way, specifically from those who seem to undermine his rapping abilities. In a slew of tweets, he claimed that he’s “tired of being judged” by the critics after proving himself on multiple occasions, noting that he will no longer allow himself to “take personal offense” to the negative commentary.

“So I’m a just get back to having fun, cause trying to please everybody ain’t it!” he said. “If you rock wit me, you rock wit me n if you don’t then… you just don’t have good taste.”

The rapper boasted about his ability to ”vibe or have fun” on various kinds of songs and hold his own alongside any other emcee with whom he’s on a track. Despite his versatility, however, he made one thing clear: he “can out rap anyone.”

Big Sean recently released his new single, “What A Life.” He teamed up with Hit-Boy for the single but revealed that he misses “the brotherhood” he used to have with fellow emcees of the G.O.O.D. Music record label. “I don’t know what happened. Guess those the GOOD ol days,” he tweeted, adding, “It’s all love.”
