The DMV continues to deliver some of the dopest lyricists of hip hop’s current generation. Joining the likes of Wale, IDK, and a newly-released Fat Trel comes Travy Nostra, a rising star who’s delivered some top tier drops over the past few years, including songs like “Hell Of A Summer” with Rockie Fresh and “Irrational” with Chaz French, as well as his Rap Game Nostra and Hood Luv Story projects. His “100 Bars” freestyle series alone has proven just how ahead of the game he is amongst his peers. Most recently, he returned to the fold with the well-received singles “Vacation” and “La Familia,” leaving many to wonder what’s coming next.

Today (Oct. 21), Travy liberates a new visual for “G-Wagon,” which sees production from HozayBeats and features the hard-hitting, straight to the point bars that the Takoma Park emcee has become well-known for. The clip itself was shot by MX and sees Travy Nostra solo at an unspecified location, further showing that he stands alone in regards to his music abilities.

“Gwagon” is said to be taken from Travy’s forthcoming body of work Leave Me The Fuck Alone, which, as he explained via press release, is an honest account of what’s he’s been dealing with from a mental standpoint — something that many of us will more than certainly relate to:

“During the process of creating all the music I was in a serious state of depression, on the verge of suicide honestly, as well as health issues and finding out my heart could stop working at any time … it really put me in a dark place where I just wanted to be left alone. I caught myself telling people in my head, ‘just leave me the fuck alone,’ [and] I felt it fit the project perfectly.”
