It’s been a little under a year since Bahja Rodriguez liberated her latest project Hold You Over, which gave her fans five infectious cuts to enjoy during the still-active quarantine months. Earlier this year, she then followed that with another EP titled Pretty Girls Don’t Cry, which added another three songs to her discography — including the upbeat bop “Keep Up,” a confident number that sees Bahja singing about getting to the bag and not wasting time for haters and love interests:

“Pretty face wit’ no make up, I don’t fuck with no fake hoes, count money soon as I wake up, might blow a thousand just because, I don’t got time to lay up, focused on my paper, hell naw we can’t link up, yea, yea, yea, yea…”

Last week (Oct. 12), Bahja decided to bless her fans with a dual video for both “Keep Up” and a newer offering titled “Times Up,” the latter of which gives off more laid-back and soulful vibes, and adds to the Atlanta singer’s versatility. Directed by John Dierre, the clip begins with Bahja in a colorful bedroom surrounded by money — fans can then see her living up in different locations throughout. At one point, Bahja’s crew even joins her under the night sky for some choreographed dance moves.

Those truly familiar with Bahja will surely remember her as Beauty, one of the main members of the Tameka “Tiny” Harris-backed girl group the OMG Girlz. Shortly after their sudden disbandment in 2015, Bahja immediately struck while the iron was hot, delivering the EP It Get’s Better, which featured a single contributions from famed actor-singer Jacob Latimore. Hopefully, she will soon bless the masses with a full length debut LP.
