The king Lil Wayne has returned with his latest new single “Ya Dig,” which officially made landfall today (Oct. 7). The song closely follows the hip-hop veteran appearance on a remix of “Perfect” by Logic featuring A$AP Ferg as well as his joint project with Rich The Kid titled Trust Fund Babies.

Lil Wayne has been relatively active this year and last year, especially in terms of collabs. He tapped in with Dababy for “Lonely,” went overseas to make an appearance on KSI’s All Over The Place album on the song “Lose,” joined Moneybagg Yo to help remix LPB Poody’s viral “Batman” track, linked up with Polo G for their “GANG GANG” track, and most notably, reunited with his Young Money protege’s Drake and Nicki Minaj for “Seeing Green.” Most recently though, Weezy hopped on Moneybagg Yo’s well-loved “Wokesha” track alongside Ashanti for its official remix.

As a veteran in this industry, Wayne has gone through plenty of trials and tribulations and has had to navigate his mental health along the way. In one of his only recent conversations this year, he opened up about one of the most intense encounters with himself he has had to shed some light and open the conversation about mental health. “Biggie was on. I’m looking in the mirror, so you could look through the mirror and the television was behind me,” he said. “So I was watching the video through the mirror. ‘One More Chance’ was on. And Biggie was already gone or something. So I was looking, I was like, ‘You know what?’ Start thinking I had to get myself mad and noticed that I didn’t have to. that’s what scared me. How I knew I had a mental health problem was when I pulled the trigger.”
