Last month, Kanye West blessed us with his tenth studio LP Donda, an album that contains a whopping 27 tracks with contributions with the current who’s who of hip hop and R&B — The Weeknd, Fivio Foreign, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Baby Keem, Travis Scott, Kid Cudi, Conway The Machine, Westside Gunn, Don Toliver, Playboi Carti, and loads more can be heard throughout. Not long after Donda made landfall, Ye then liberated a video for the track “Come To Life,” which was centered around his now-infamous listening session in Chicago.

Today (Sept. 16), the Chicago icon continues that formula with his latest single “24,” which features his Sunday Service Choir and KayCyy Pluto. Co-produced alongside Brian Miller, Cory Henry, Warryn Campbell, and Ojivolta, “24” pays homage to NBA legend Kobe Bryant, who sadly transitioned in January of last year:

“Exhausted, never the right time to go … never the right time to go, God loves you, love when, he choose your steps, gotta make it right ‘fore you left … everybody wanna feel likе, everything gon’ be right, new mе over the old me, let it out, let it all out, god, please set it alright … save me, yeah, make it alright, bow our heads ‘cause it’s alright, alright, twenty-four hours, twenty-four candles, twenty-four hours…”

Directed by Nick Knight, the clip begins with footage of Kanye West during his second listening session in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium — specifically, the point where he’s lifted towards the venue’s ceiling. The rest of the clip then sees him flying through the skies while his mother can be seen around him. The profound imagery is almost reminiscent of Kanye’s yet-to-be-released “Only One” video game, which viewers got a glimpse of during the Electronic Entertainment Expo back in 2016.
