Terrence Deyalsingh, the Minister of Health for Trinidad & Tobago, said his office wasted valuable time following up on Nicki’s comments.

Terrence Deyalsingh, the Minister of Health for Trinidad & Tobago, has refuted Nicki Minaj’s claims that her cousin’s friend had adverse effects on his genitalia after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

During a press conference, Deyalsingh said his office wasted valuable time following up on the Queen rapper’s comments. “We had to check and make sure that what she was claiming was either true or false,” he said. “Unfortunately, we wasted so much time yesterday running down this false claim. As far as we know at this point in time, there has been no such reported either side effect or adverse event.”

“What was sad about this was that, it wasted our time yesterday trying to track down — because we take all these claims seriously — whether it’s on social media or mainstream media,” the health minister added. “As we stand now, there is absolutely no reported such side effect or adverse event of testicular swelling in Trinidad, or I dare say anywhere. None that we know of anywhere else in the world.”

Social media went into a frenzy earlier this week after Nicki tweeted that she would not be attending the Met Gala because she didn’t have a nanny and because they required all attendees to be vaccinated — which she was not.

The “Good Form” emcee said she was researching the COVID-19 vaccine and would get the shot once she learned more information. The Queens native then tweeted about an experience that her cousin’s friend allegedly had after getting vaccinated. “My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent,” she wrote. “His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So, just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied.”
