Just last Friday (Sept. 10), Baby Keem blessed the masses with his official debut LP The Melodic Blue, a 16-track body of work with additional features from Travis Scott, Don Toliver, and Kendrick Lamar — the last of whom delivered show-stopping bars for “range brothers” and “family ties.” He wasted no time sharing visuals to enhance the project release, kicking it off with “issues” and now swiftly following up today (Sept. 13) with “first order of business.” On the track, Keem spits about his priorities and the order in which he’ll attack them:

First order of business, dawg, I gotta thank my mama/ Second order of business, share the blessings, no more trauma/ Third order of business, do good deeds and get good karma/ First order of business, get this money to my shorty, loyalty and gratitude, the only thing you swear me/ Will you be the person that’s gon’ love me in my forties?

First order of business, dawg, I gotta shake the toxic/ All this back and forth, it’s weighing heavy on my conscience/ When I met your sister, she said, “This n***a’s obnoxious” fuck the ones comin’ for me/

The new Dave Free-directed clip opens up with a scene of Keem being interviewed. He answers questions like “What’s your favorite trait in a woman?” and “What did you spend you first million on?” before taking the viewers on a journey through his mind.

The Melodic Blue follows 2019’s “DIE FOR MY BITCH,” a project that spawned hit singles like “INVENTED IT,” “HONEST,” “MOSHPIT,” and “ORANGE SODA,” all of which quickly made Keem one of the next artists to watch. Last year, he then joined the likes of Polo GJack HarlowLattoNLE ChoppaLil TjayRod Wave, and Fivio Foreign as a member of XXL’s Freshman class.
