Chlöe Bailey is ready to spread her wings and embark on her journey as a solo artist. After releasing a headline-making teaser back in July on her birthday, her debut single “Have Mercy” is finally unleashed to the masses today (Sept 10). The accompanying visual embraces the young superstar moving confidently in her body as she serves multiple looks while delivering her seductive verse with ease:
Why you lookin at me like I ain’t give you no choice, if I count to three, then you be on your knees/ You are on my hand like a Cartier, oh
You can’t get this thick, this out of your mind, he say he like that laffy taffy/ You so groovy, call me daddy, he stupid, he go daffy, introduce me to his papi/ He can never live without me, I’m so real, I’m never cappin’/ If he got it like that, like that, I can take it, take it there ’cause my booty so big, (work) Lord have mercy
Since it’s release, the teaser alone has garnered over four million views on both Twitter and Instagram combined. The snippet is also responsible for a TikTok viral trend that has helped fans keep the anticipation alive. The singer-songwriter is slated to perform “Have Mercy” for the first time at the MTV VMAs on Sunday (Sept 12), which is sure to be a treat considering her stellar performance skills we’ve witnessed thanks to her performances with Halle in the past. The track will also reportedly appear on her upcoming solo album.
Chlöe is also gearing up to take the stage at H.E.R.’s Lights On Fest in Brooklyn this October. She also joined the likes of fellow young stars like Yara Shahidi and Cordae on the Music For The Movement Vol. 3 — Liberated compilation from earlier this year.
