Much of the world has been waiting patiently while YoungBoy Never Broke Again works through his current legal issues. Despite his obstacles, it’s clear that he has no plans to stop feeding the streets with music — his label recently made that clear with the confirmation that his long-awaited album, Sincerely, Kentrell, is close to to the surface.
Presumably looking to hold the fans off until that arrives, this morning (Sept. 10) sees his team liberating a new single from the project titled “Life Support,” a Ravis, Stunner Samples, Smash David, and SMPLGTWY-produced effort that contains all of the emotionally charged subject matter that’s made YoungBoy one of the most popular hip hop stars in recent years:
“Young man take pride, remember ridin’ and takin’ my gram’s to chemo, now I got grams like I’m Frank Matthews, jewelry weigh a lеast kilo, now, back to you, every time that I’m in it likе a pool, she be wet inside, tryna hit it like I want, but then I don’t, ‘cause I be too high, feel expensive, I’ll let you decide, ‘cause this, I don’t wanna jeopardize…”
“Life Support” also sees an accompanying visual courtesy of Rich Porter that’s more or less filled with footage of YoungBoy living his life, hitting up a restaurant, taking a ride, hanging with his kids, putting work in during a recording session, and more.
Upon its release, Sincerely, Kentrell will follow the mixtape Until I Return and YoungBoy’s joint effort with Rich The Kid, Nobody Safe, both of which were released back in November. YoungBoy’s last official album, Top, made landfall a couple of months prior, and boasted 21 tracks with a couple of assists from Lil Wayne and Snoop Dogg. Top also earned the Baton Rouge star his third number one album thanks to 126,000 first-week album equivalent units sold — Top has also since earned him a Gold certification.
Press play on “Life Support” below. As can also be seen, Sincerely, Kentrell drops Sept. 24.
