The project now comes with two additional cuts.

Back in March, Covaboy liberated his latest project Silver City, a nine-track ode to his Maryland upbringing that saw additional features from Garren, King Quell, Abdou, Tracie Josephine, and Curren$y, the last of whom contributed to the Rick Roman-produced “S.F.H.” Today (Sept. 2), he decided to upgrade Silver City with a deluxe edition boasting two extra cuts — “Intermission” and the well-received June drop “Die Too Much,” an honest introspection about living for today as best as possible, given that tomorrow isn’t promised:

“Momma still complainin’, tell me I don’t swing by enough, but I’m just tryna live, you know, niggas seem to die too much, I just left a candlelight, and I ain’t even cry too much, ‘cause they won’t let it slide, dog, I promise you, they slidin’ up, but I’m just tryna live, you know, niggas seem to die too much…”

Via press release, Covaboy spoke on the creation of “Die Too Much,” and how the melachony effort re-calibrated his decisions moving forward:

“Someone stopped me after a candlelight vigil for a friend’s younger brother in White Oak, Maryland and told me to keep rapping. That moment motivated me to make more music, and to do things like take a trip to the Hollywood Hills… This song is about balance and the contrast between the normalized violence in our society and trying to enjoy your limited existence.”

The majority of Silver Sity was produced by Roman, whose style immediately sets the project apart from other records thanks to a seamless inclusion of nostalgic R&B and hip hop throughout. In addition to other beatsmiths like MoWatts, DillyGotItBumpin, and RyanTaughtYou, Silver Sity (Deluxe Edition) adds in sounds from E Major and iLL Wonka, both of whom further add versatility to the overall body of work.
