Sunday is evidently Nas’ “favorite day of the week.” To celebrate, on Sunday (Aug. 15), the NYC hip hop icon curated a “R&B Brunch” playlist for Tidal.

The collection of tracks includes songs by The Gap Band, Fela Kuti, Lion Babe, Frank Ocean, Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, OutKast, Alicia Keys, Roy Ayers and of course Nas himself.

The first track, which serves as the inspiration of the playlist, is Nas’ “Brunch on Sundays” featuring Blxst. The Hit-Boy produced song is on Nas’ 13th studio album Kings Disease II. It serves as an anthem for the people who enjoy going to brunch on Sundays and sippin’ mimosas with their friends and family.

“That’s brunch on Sundays/

Mad blunts, real runts girls, tryin’ to act up/

Gotta keep it classy this ain’t time to act tough/

Eye to eye when we toast, we don’t need no bad luck/

That’s brunch on Sundays/

Bring the hookah to the table she gon’ smoke until her lungs ache/

That’s brunch on Sundays/

Postin’ pictures on the ‘Gram hashtaggin’, Sunday fun day’” Nas raps.

On Instagram, Nas promoted his Tidal playlist with a caption that reads: “Something for your brunch on Sundays.” Last year, following the release of the first King’s Disease album, Nas curated another collection of tracks for Tidal. “No Rap In My Playlist” was a nod to the album’s opening single, “King’s Disease.” Described as “Some old school vibes to vibe to,” the playlist featured songs by Prince, Zapp & Roger, Michael Jackson, Chaka Khan, Chuck Brown, DeBarge, Maze, Frankie Beverley, Barry White, and more.

Hits Daily Double is projecting Kings Disease II to sell nearly 52,000 album equivalent units with 16,000 pure album sales. The amount would make it the fifth highest selling album of the week.
