Drizzy has some lofty praise for his frequent collaborator.

Drake has just thrown some lofty praise in the direction of a frequent collaborator.

On Wednesday (Aug. 11), the Toronto rapper used his Instagram story to post a video of Rick Ross meeting Smiley, the latest OVO Sound signee. In some overlain text, Drizzy gives Rozay some major props.

“The greatest rapper alive met my favorite rapper alive,” wrote the 6ix God, who’s currently prepping his Certified Lover Boy album.

The 6ix God’s praise shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise if you’ve been paying attention. Dating back to 2010, Rozay and Drizzy have cooked up numerous high-level tracks together. Most recently, they traded bars on Drizzy’s “Lemmon Pepper Freestyle,” a track that made Twitter go crazy upon its release. On the track, Ricky unloads cinematic bars that evoke images of a drug dealer’s opulent, but perilous lifestyle.

“Godfather with a garden full of snakes/Call Porsche, time to give away a Wraith/Bricks boy, tryna turn ‘em into bass/Big boy, I been tryin’ buy the Braves,” he raps on the track, which was released back in March.

The song was another tantalizing glimpse of what a Rozay and 6ix God album could look like. Back in 2011, the two artists teased a joint project called Yolo. Shortly after the release of “Lemon Pepper Freestyle,” Ross explained that a joint project with himself and Drizzy could still happen.

“After our latest release…‘Lemon Pepper Freestyle.’ We had that conversation, and it’s most definitely under serious consideration,” the Port of Miami 2 artist told Streetz 94.5 Atlanta back in April

Drizzy himself hasn’t spoken on a joint album with Rozay in a while. Considering that he’s about to put out CLB, it’s probably hard to focus too much energy on much else besides his own music. Still his most recent Rozay praise is a reminder of the respect these two clearly have for one another.
