“We will never beef. And if we did beef, you will never see it because we love each other and it will be as men,” Styles said.

The latest Verzuz matchup, between NYC rap crews The Diplomats and The LOX, was filled with memorable moments from start to finish.

One of those moments, which was initially perceived as combative, took place in the corner of the ring. As the battle began to heat up, cameras panned to Cam’ron kicking Styles P a few times from the comfort of a beach chair.

Styles clarified at the end of the Verzuz that the back-and-forth antics was just for the show inside the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. However, he felt it was necessary to hop on IG Live Friday (August 6) to explain what was actually happening when Killa kicked him in the corner of the ring.

The Ghost revealed in the nine-minute clip that his Rag & Bone green outfit was ruined and his hip hurt because of the incident. “My brother kicked me,” he said. “No, what happened was…He tried to rip my whole pants leg off,” Cam interjected. “Look, I appreciate my drip! That shit was a thousand dollars, he was trying to rip the whole pants leg off. I didn’t know what was going on!”

“Killa kicked me on the hip, then he kicked me again” Styles said grinning at Cam. “I love Killa. That’s my brother.”

“Promoters, everybody out there, we are not beefing. We will never beef. And if we did beef, you will never see it because we love each other and it will be as men,” Styles said. “We did it. We had a great time, we had a ball doing it. It was a beautiful night! But bigger than that, we are Black entrepreneurs. Please do not get it twisted. Promoters, do not get scared, do not worry about it. We said it was going to get chippy. We said we would give you the show of your lifetime and we did!”

“This is not Yonkers vs. Harlem. I love Jimmy, I love Santana, I love this. We are not going to separate our culture. We are black men, brown kings trying to get wealthier and healthier.”
