The legendary Lil Kim turns 47-years-old today (July 11). Fans of Ms. Kimberly Denise Jones and her industry peers have been wishing her a happy birthday and celebrating her legacy all day. Queen Bey wished the Queen Bee a happy birthday on her website, sharing a throwback picture of Kim dressed in a catholic school uniform.
Kim’s friend and frequent collaborator Missy Elliott shared a heartfelt post on Instagram along with some of her favorite music videos. “I am barely 5’2” and when I first met Kim I said ‘oh snap she really is ‘Lil.’ She ‘bout 4’11” BUT her ENERGY always been one of a GIANT. So BOLD & UNAPOLOGETIC from her lyrics to her outfits she always been ahead & Pushing the limits reg. of what came with it. She is a ICON & I wish you LEGENDARY BDAY fit for a LEGEND Love you sis,” Missy wrote.
Fat Joe shared a picture of Kim on his Instagram with a caption that read: “Happy bday to my sis @lilkimthequeenbee love you enjoy your day.” Janet Jackson posted a picture of her and Kim on IG, as well. “So much luv for u,” she wrote. Lil Nas X shared a recent photo of Lil Kim on his IG stories using emojis in the form of a crown, bee and party favor.
Misa Hylton, the stylist responsible for many of Lil Kim’s iconic looks wished her friend Kim a happy birthday in her IG stories. “Happy Birthday @lilkimthequeenbee. Love you,” she wrote. Radio Hall of Farmer Angie Martinez also took to the social media platform to wish Kim a happy birthday. “Happy birthday legend!” she captioned a set of pictures — including one from the “Not Tonight (Ladies Night Remix)” set. DJ Mister Cee also chimed in on Instagram. “Happy Bday to the Big Momma Queen Bee,” he wrote.
