As you all may (or may not) know, there is never a bad time for some sultry sounds from Snoh Aalegra. The Swedish, Los Angeles-based singer has delivered effortlessly ever since her arrival back in 2014 with her debut EP There Will Be Sunshine. The way she floats over those calm and relaxing beats puts her in a lane of her own and is certainly a great look for R&B. While we enjoy these days at cookouts, the beach, or just riding around the city in the heart of summer time, Snoh Aalegra couldn’t have picked a better time for the release of her third studio album Temporary Highs In The Violet Skies.

The album serves as the follow up to her 2019 LP Ugh, Those Feels Again which featured some of her best songs to date — “I Want You Around,” “Find Someone Like You,” and “Whoa.” Charting at number 73 on the Billboard 200, this album put Temporary Highs In The Violet Skies in position to possibly exceed that sort of accomplishment, seeing as though Snoh has only grown more with her music over the past two years.

If you didn’t know, the 33-year-old singer was mentored by the late icon, Prince, which undoubtedly played a huge role in her success as a vocalist and artist overall. Last year she spoke with BET about him discovering her: “It was very crazy to be mentored by him. He would call me sometimes, too, but he would email me links to things he felt I should study, artists that inspired him, or certain performances, and I really just tried to take that in. Since he’s not with us anymore in physical form, I just want to make him proud. I think about him every time I perform and it feels so empty not having his presence in my life.”

The double sided album includes features from Tyler, The Creator and James Fauntleroy.
