This Friday, Vince Staples will liberate his self-titled fourth studio album, which will see 10 tracks and a single appearance from Fousheé. Currently, the Long Beach emcee is on a promotional run for the project, and recently made a visit to the L.A. Leakers show at Power 106. While there, he decided to bless the listeners with some bars over the instrumental to Dr. Dre’s “Xxplosive,” and — to no one’s surprise — he does not disappoint with his street-oriented delivery:

“Dropping shells from out of that window, I feel like Common Sense, promise I did more for my niggas than them Obamas did, late night steppin’ like ‘Thriller,’ you niggas dead to me, taggin’ 7 Street, they scrubbed it off the wall like every week, famous city by the sea, the streets was cold, I felt a breeze, I rose from out the ruins, broke the mold, then they neglected me…”

Vince Staples follows 2018’s FM!, which saw appearances from the likes of Kamaiyah, E-40, Jay Rock, Kehlani, Earl Sweatshirt, Buddy, and Tyga over 11 tracks. Following that drop and the well-received loosie “Get the Fuck Off My Dick,” Staples then premiered a web series titled “The Vince Staples Show” — it was through this that he blessed the masses with the singles “So What?,” “Sheet Music,” and “Hell Bound (Ad 01).” Outside of his own work, he could also be heard on top quality cuts like Boldy James and The Alchemist’s “Surf & Turf,” Joey Fatts’ “Havin’ My Way,” REASON’s “Sauce,” Divine’s “Jungle Mantra,” and Lil Yachty’s “In My Stussy’s.”

Press play on the L.A. Leakers freestyle below. Given the fact that there’s said to be another album on the way — titled Ramona Park Broke My Heart — and an almost guaranteed announcement of tour and festival dates, fans should be more than satisfied with Vince Staples’ output by year’s end.
