Following a few years’ worth of major drops, last October saw Headie One finally bless the masses with his debut studio LP Edna, a 20-track offering that saw features from M Huncho, AJ Tracey, Drake, Future, Skepta, Young Adz, Aitch, and more. Landing the London star at the stop of the UK Albums charts, the album also spawned a deluxe edition with eight additional cuts and collaborations alongside the likes of Rich The Kid and Burna Boy.

This week, Headie One returns to the fold with a brand new single titled “Pound Signs,” which was first teased through both social media and Headie’s well-received appearance on GRM Daily’s “Daily Duppy” freestyle series. Produced by ESTheProducer and LikkleDotz, the drill offering sees Headie rapping about his wealth and what it took to reach this point of his life:

“They say the pound signs turnin’ me crazy, just look what’s it doin’ to me, I’ll put two hundred racks on his cranium and make his own friend wanna put him to sleep, funny how I used to pray for a chain until there’s bruises on my knees, a hundred thou’, man blew it this week, seen friends turn foes, then roses grew out my sleeve, I’ve seen the fiend nearly overdose, and I can still hear that voice in my dreams…”

Those just getting familiar with Headie One have plenty of work to pull from and enjoy. Prior to Edna, The OFB alum had already been making waves with classic projects like Headz Or Tails, Music x Road, Gang with Fred again.., and Drillers x Trappers II with RV. He’s also adding his special touch to top quality songs like Stormzy’s “Audacity,” Krept & Konan’s “I Spy,” and Young T & Bugsey’s “Don’t Rush.”
