The Soulja Boy and Bow Wow Verzuz was arguably one of the most entertaining battles to go down on the platform, but something nearly came in the way of its fruition. According to pre-performance footage that circulated the internet, Soulja threatened to cancel the event after a brief spat with security.

The viral clip sees the rapper make his arrival at the venue alongside members of his SODMG crew. When they got to security, however, Big Draco’s team was denied entry, prompting him to consider backing out the entire Verzuz.

“Check this out, I don’t know who you could tell, but if they don’t let my artists in, I’m about to leave right now, and there won’t be no live or no event,” Soulja could be heard saying in the video.

Someone inquired about whether Draco’s friends had wristbands to go backstage, while another person said they were required to make their entrance through the front door. Despite the requests, the emcee insisted they be allowed to enter through the back because they were going to accompany him in the dressing room. The security eventually gave in and opened up the barricade, but moments later, Soulja Boy nearly lost it when he and his artists were stopped once again. “I’m leavin’! I’m gone!” he shouted, per the video.

Fortunately, things worked out in our favor. Soulja was let in the building with his crew members, later taking the stage for a hilarious and nostalgic competition that featured appearances from Bow Wow’s guests, Three 6 Mafia, Jermaine Dupri, Da Brat, Omarion and Dem Franchize Boyz. Soulja also had some surprises up his sleeve. During the battle, he invited French Montana onto the stage, but he believes bringing out his competitor’s former foe helped him take the cake.

“I killed Bow Wow when I brought Romeo out,” Big Draco wrote after the battle. See that tweet below. Footage of Soulja’s argument with security can also be found below.
