As this point, everyone is probably aware of Donald Trump’s good graces just before vacating the White House, as well as how much said graces benefitted a few of your favorite rap stars. One such individual was Kodak Black, who was in the throws of a prison sentence over last year’s legal issues before being pardoned by the former president. Shortly after his release, the Floridian star dropped off a track titled “Last Day In,” a LenoxBeatmaker, Luca Vialli, and Dyryk-produced track that saw Kodak speaking on his incarceration and — at the time — additional time behind bars that potentially awaited him:

“I told my lawyer, ‘Boy, I love you like a daddy,’ and I’ma catch a charge before I let them take advantage of me, I done came home so much, I already know they tired of me, ran up out of prison, I ain’t say bye to nobody, I want sushi, then some coochie, no more lunch trays, yeah…”

Fast forward to this past weekend, when Kodak liberated a new visual for “Last Day In,” a self-directed effort alongside Skinny White Boi and Cotto Over Did It that shows the well-dressed star reflecting on the song’s subject matter while in different locations — his presumed hotel room, a private jet, and other clear symbols of Kodak’s hard-earned financial success.

Since “Last Day In” made landfall, Kodak Black has fed his fans with plenty of new music, including other loose cuts like “Every Balmain,” “Easter in Miami,” the XXXTentacion tribute “Falling Over” and “Rip Stick” alongside Pooh Shiesty and Syko Bob. Back in May, he released the eight-track EP Haitian Boy Kodak — he then quickly followed that with the celebratory Happy Birthday Kodak, which contained four cuts and contributions from Jacquees, Lil Keed, Rylo Rodriguez, and Yo Gotti.
