Swizz Beatz’s son Nasir Dean is set to make his feature film debut after landing a starring role in the upcoming movie, Charge It To The Game. According to TMZ, Nasir will play the role of Preach, the son of “the Midwest’s most prominent pastor,” who is one of four best friends that the coming-of-age story revolves around.

The Charge It To The Game website says the groups navigates “the current obstacles of the day, such as social injustice, peer pressure, decisions about higher education,” family dysfunction and the untimely death of a new friend.

“The relationship between Preach and his long-time girlfriend Shureka, a truly spoiled brat with ADHD, is finally beginning to crack at the seams, while the romance between Grey Dogg and his forbidden love Jordan is blossoming,” it adds

Charge It To The Game hasn’t been given a release date yet, but filming is reportedly set to begin later this month in Atlanta. Dan O’Toole and R.L. Young are executive producing the project, while Eddie Beverly, Enrico Taylor and Craig Shoemaker will produce.

The role is a big break for Nasir, who has been working in the acting world for a while. The 20-year-old previously starred in Common’s music video “Hercules,” which also featured his father Swizz.

According to TMZ, he also auditioned for a part on “Euphoria,” but didn’t land the role. Nasir then refocused on his music career, but his mother and manager, Nichole Levy, told the outlet his itch to get back into acting never left.

Musically, Nasir is represented by Epic Records and performs under the name Note Marcato. Last year, he released his BeachBum Limbo EP and he’s expected to drop off another project, Mr. Cardinal, later this year. Although Nasir would have considerable pull in Hollywood through his dad, TMZ reports that the mega-producer has been hands-off about Nasir’s pursuits since he wants to create his own independent brand.
