Another week brings another dope cut from Russ. Today, he delivers his latest offering “Money On Me,” a Carat-produced effort that — as the title suggests — sees the Atlanta-based emcee-producer rapping about his financial success:

“Bеt on myself, and I don’t even gamblе, peep the financials, this is substantial, skeptics in shambles, y’all got it wrong, y’all opinions are dead, get the t-shirt and candles out, oh, that’s your girl, why she fannin’ out? Walk in, I bring all the cameras out, this isn’t luck, no, I planned this out … I got my money on me, I bet on myself…”

What makes “Money On Me” particularly notable because Russ recently spoke about his business savvy to REVOLT during Financial Literacy Month, and he gave his thoughts on the importance of that very term:

“I think without financial literacy, you’re going to learn the hard way. You’re going to be like, ‘Wow. I shouldn’t have spent all that money.’ Or ‘I should have been putting money aside for taxes.’ And ‘You mean when I get a million dollars from a label, I don’t have a million? It’s really $400,000; $250,000?”

In 2020, Russ released his third studio LP SHAKE THE SNOW GLOBE, his last under the Columbia Records imprint. Including its deluxe upgrade, SHAKE THE SNOW GLOBE saw 21 tracks with features from Rick Ross, Bugus, Ty Dolla $ign, WESTSIDE BOOGIE, Kiana Ledé, Benny The Butcher, Devin The Dude, and Bia. The project was a top five success, peaked at number four on the Billboard 200 with 63,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week. Later that year, Russ then liberated the five-track EP CHOMP — his first official project since his return to independence. That short project saw top quality collaborations with Ab-Soul, DJ Premier, Black Thought, Busta Rhymes, and more.

Enjoy Russ’ “Money On Me.”
