The Soulja Boy and Bow Wow Verzuz showdown is really happening, Swizz Beatz confirmed on the “Quick Silva Show.” Co-hosts DJ Quick Silva and Dominique Da Diva asked Swizz about the highly anticipated Verzuz, which Soulja Boy teased last week.

“Is this Bow Wow and Soulja Boy [Verzuz battle] really happening? And if so, when?” DJ Quick Silva asked.

“It seems like it’s real,” Swizz responded at first. “It’s 99 percent real.”

Swizz explained that he and his Verzuz co-founder Timbaland haven’t settled on a date for Soulja and Bow’s showdown yet, but he assured that fans can expect an official announcement about the battle soon.

“We ain’t get into the date yet; they got excited, which I’m happy [about]. I love to see when people get excited and it’s organic,” he said. “Everything don’t have to be formal all the time, you know? So, we’re gonna roll out a whole calendar that’s gonna show you the next five-plus Verzuz.”

Soulja first teased the battle against Bow in a tweet on Saturday (May 22). As reported by REVOLT, Big Draco tweeted, “Soulja Boy vs Bow wow #Verzuz it’s official.”

The announcement arrived nearly five months after Bow said it “would be fun” to go up against the “Crank That” rapper in a Verzuz battle on Clubhouse.

Swizz’s confirmation of Soulja and Bow’s showdown also arrives after the mega-producer announced that he and Timbaland will rematch on their beloved virtual series this Sunday (May 30). The duo first announced the rematch — but left out their names — while teasing a series of Verzuz battles back in March. Most recently, the series has featured The Isley Brothers and Earth, Wind and Fire; Redman and Method Man; and SWV and Xscape.
