Bankroll Freddie is in stable condition after he was struck and injured in a recent shooting. On Monday (May 24), the Quality Control emcee took to his Instagram story to reveal what appears to be a bloody wound under his chin. Alongside the boomerang, he updated fans with a simple message: “I’m good.” In later posts, he shared some of the well wishes he received from his supporters.

Details of the incident are not yet clear.

Bankroll Freddie, a native of Helena, Arkansas, grew up in a home where his mother often played R&B, blues and other forms of soul music in the morning.

As a lover of music, he decided to try his hand at rapping in 2017 and dropped two songs, but he initially didn’t take it seriously. After getting into some trouble, he decided to hone in on his craft. Additionally, the local buzz surrounding his music prompted him to record a freestyle to “Act Up” from the City Girls. He posted the video of his freestyle on social media, eventually getting the attention of Quality Control’s Pierre “Pee” Thomas.

“I post it on my page, and that nigga Pee hit that bitch instantly,” Freddie explained during an episode of “Big Facts.” “He shared it, like, ‘This nigga hard…Then everybody went to calling my phone like, ‘Pee post yo shit.’ So, then he hit me up the next day, like, ‘Call me, send me your info.’ Boom! I get on the phone with him, and he’s like, ‘Nigga, I’m finna fly you to L.A.’ I’m like, ‘Shit! Bet!’ Nigga flew me to L.A., and…the rest been history.”

Bankroll Freddie has since released a few records, including the Megan Thee Stallion-assisted “Pop It,” which is featured on his recently-released project, Big Bank. 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane and Young Dolph also make appearances on the album.
