Jaden Smith is turning his I Love You food truck into a restaurant. According to Variety, the multi-hyphenate’s new endeavor will distribute food to displaced people in Los Angeles, similar to his food truck.

“It’s for homeless people to get free food,” Smith told the outlet. “But if you’re not homeless, not only do you have to pay, but you have to pay for more than the food’s worth so that you can pay for the person behind you.”

Smith launched his I Love You food truck two years ago in LA’s Skid Row area. News of his philanthropic restaurant also follows Smith’s announcement about his involvement in New Balance’s We Got Now campaign. Through the campaign, the footwear company will highlight Smith’s Water Box project, which provides access to clean water in underserved communities.

“The reason I wanted to do it is because I feel like it has a bigger message of We Got Now, like, the culture has now; the youth has now,” he told Billboard. “The youth is going to take over and really change and bring something different for the future of the world.”

Through Just Water, Smith and his organization co-founder Drew Fitzgerald also launched 501CTHREE, which is “a new type of nonprofit for a younger generation focused on energy, food, water and shelter,” according to its website.

“The organization is all about giving back to the community and specifically serving the Black and brown communities that are disproportionally affected by these issues,” Smith said.

The 22-year-old didn’t disclose where his I Love You restaurant will be located or when it’s set to open.

Later this year, Smith is also expected to release a new album and unveil the fall/ winter collection for his fashion brand, MSFTSrep. Last year, he released his latest project CTV3: Cool Tape Vol. 3, which featured Justin Bieber and Raury.
