On Tuesday (April 20), ex Minnesota police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all charges that he faced, which included second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. Needless to say, millions of people — Black people specifically — around the country and world were elated to hear the news.

As the entire world news by now, Chauvin was seen in gruesome footage, back in May 2020, pressing his knee in George Floyd’s neck as he laid on the street handcuffed. While on the ground, Floyd would repeat multiple times that he couldn’t breathe, and call out to his late mother and kids. “Can’t believe this, man,” the now-late deceased victim of Chauvin’s murder was heard saying. “Mom, love you. Love you. Tell my kids I love them. I’m dead.

The clips shocked millions of people so much that it launched the 2020 Black Lives Matter Movement, and made those angered by it forget about remaining in quarantine due to the Coronavirus pandemic, and instead take to the streets in their respective cities and demand that Floyd and his family received the justice they deserved for such a crime.

It would be remiss to not admit that, as the jury deliberated, many were nervous. After all, we’ve, unfortunately, seen a number of cases like this for years that resulted in disappointing outcomes where the police who killed Black lives walked away free. However, this trial was thankfully different.

From the look on his face, though, Chauvin was just as shocked as the public when hearing his guilty verdicts. As the judge presiding over the trial read all three, the former cop appeared completely baffled by the decision. Was he thinking that he would be yet another police officer who killed a Black person and wouldn’t face any consequences? See video of his reaction below.

Take a look at some Twitter reactions to his telling face, which was more than visible with his mask on, below.
