Details for a public memorial for DMX have been revealed.

According to TMZ, the “X Gon’ Give It To Ya” emcee will be honored by friends, family and fans on Saturday, April 24 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. Steve Rifkind, X’s manager, told the outlet that details surrounding the event are still being worked out — including ticketing and how many people will be allowed to attend due to the ongoing pandemic.

The next day after the public memorial, X’s family and close friends will attend a private funeral service at an unnamed church in the New York City area.

DMX passed away on April 9 after suffering from a heart attack. He was rushed to a New York medical facility and placed on life support. Doctors performed numerous brain tests on the music legend, but his brain activity did not improve.

After the brain functioning tests were conducted, the family decided to take the Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood rapper off life support. “We are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, passed away at 50 years old at White Plains Hospital with his family by his side after being placed on life support for the past few days,” a statement from the family read.

Since his passing, tributes from his close friends and collaborators poured in. Swizz Beatz, who produced many tracks for X, shared an emotional tribute video on Instagram. “I’m truly beyond devastated!!!!!!” he captioned the post. “But I’m so happy my brother is no longer in pain. I watched him take everyone’s pain and make it his own. I send my love and support to his entire family. My brother we will never let them forget your name and you will live forever F.A.M.E. Long live King DMX THE GREAT AKA my brother 4 Life Earl Simmons.”

Joaquin “Waah” Dean, who co-founded Ruff Ryders with his siblings, took to Instagram to pay tribute to the late emcee. “Forever my brother,” he captioned a photo of X. “May God bless you and take you into his paradise. You will always be my brother for life. Let’s celebrate the dog for all the work he put in here. My dog for life RR.”
