NLE Choppa released a statement regarding his recent arrest, in which he was facing burglary, gun and drug charges.

On Thursday (April 1), the “Walk Em Down” emcee took to Instagram to deny the fact that he had anything to do with any illegal substances and told his fans that he will walk away from the situation a free man. “To begin, when you start changing lives around you and begin to stand for something deep in your purpose, you become a target to a certain group of people, and also the devil,” he wrote. “During this arrest, I was set up, substances were planted on me that I don’t consume/use/own, my name was lied upon, and I was even mistreated in the process.”

He continued, “Every media outlet, news channel, and etc. covered this story to paint a picture on a new surface I’ve been working so hard to create. This case will be beat and I will walk a free man, remember it’s innocent until proven guilty, not guilty until proven innocent. Asking my supporters to stand firm with me and allow God to do his work. Thank you and love y’all dearly. -NLE.”

Last Sunday (March 28), NLE was arrested in Florida by the Davie Police Department for multiple offenses, including carrying a concealed firearm, burglary, possession of marijuana and possession of Xanax.

His arrest comes just months after he began to promote a healthier lifestyle by eating clean and being positive. He recently called out Famous Dex’s record label for not helping the Chicago rapper with his alleged drug abuse.

“I just wanna see you as well as I know you can be king. May God bless,” NLE tweeted. Famous Dex replied, saying, “Naw it’s all love, bro. We both kings. I just love to be me. Love you, bro. Never been the type to come at mf I don’t know, but all love my brother. Stay bless you young god. Bless that someone cares about me.”
