Last year, Big Sean blessed the world with his fifth studio album Detroit 2, which saw 21 tracks with additional features from the likes of Nipsey Hussle, Post Malone, Ty Dolla $ign, Jhené Aiko, Anderson .Paak, Wale, Young Thug, Travis Scott, Lil Wayne, most of Detroit’s current hip-hop frontrunners, and Hit-Boy — the last of whom had a major part in Detroit 2’s production.

In celebration of his 33rd birthday, the G.O.O.D. Music emcee dropped off a performance-styled visual for “Lucky Me” and “Still I Rise” — two songs that sound even better in this setting thanks to the introspective and deeply personal subject matter:

“Man, lucky me, I was diagnosed with a heart disease at 19, could barely stand on my feet, doctors said they had to cut it open, put a pacemaker on it to put it back on beat, ‘til my mama took me to holistic doctors and they prescribed me magnesium for two weeks/

Went back to the regular doctors and they said, “Huh, damn, looks like we don’t need to proceed,” that’s how I know that western medicine weak/”

The video keeps things simple, with Sean Don performing with a backing band, which Hit-Boy contributing on the keys. Unfortunately, Dom Kennedy doesn’t make an appearance for his contribution to “Still I Rise.”

“Lucky Me/Still I Rise” follows previously released clips for “Harder Than My Demons,” “Body Language,” “Lithuania,” “ZTFO,” “Wolves,” and “Deep Reverence.” In addition to his own releases, last year also saw him contributing to tracks like Benny The Butcher’s “Timeless,” Freddie Gibbs’ “4 Thangs,” Jack Harlow’s “Way Out,” Megan Thee Stallion’s “Good News,” Lil Wayne’s “I Do It,” Tee Grizzley’s “Trenches,” Teyana Taylor’s “Shoot It Up,” and Nas’ “Replace Me,” among many others.
