Back in February, rising star CJ released his debut EP Loyalty Over Royalty, an eight-track body of work that boasts last year’s breakthrough single “Whoopty,” a NY drill cut that samples Mithoon and Arijit Singh’s Bollywood cut “Sanam Re” — something that’s been done by many of CJ’s fellow peers. This past weekend, the Staten Island emcee unveiled a new remix of “Whoopty” with verses from French Montana and Rowdy Rebel, all of whom make quick work of the infectious, Pxcoyo-produced cut:

“I get the breesh, then it’s adiós, if I’m with your treesh, then she’s giving throat, when I see police, then we getting low, that’s another piece, that’s another Zoe, ice in the VV’s, now she’s down to get treeshy, I got all this water on me like FIJI, bitch, I’m posted up with Hats and the Sleezys/”

Directed by Edgar Esteves, the accompanying visual for “Whoopty NYC” is mainly centered around CJ, French, and Rowdy in a white studio, dressed to the nines while flanked by dogs, women, and an impressive dancer. Elsewhere, CJ and French hit the streets, mobbing heavy as dirtbikes, police, and other big city characteristics make appearances throughout.

Along with the release of “Whoopty NYC” came the announcement of Loyalty Over Royalty (Deluxe), of which there isn’t yet an official release date or tracklisting. Past interviews have also confirmed that an official debut album is on the way, with soon-come contributions from the likes of Chris Brown and UK rapper Fredo. Having recently signed a new record deal with Warner Records, CJ has since received a slew of co-signs from other hip hop veterans, including Cardi B, 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, and — of course — Montana, who also contributed to CJ’s Loyalty Over Royalty standout “I’m Lit.”
