Jamie Foxx paid tribute to his late sister DeOndra Dixon with a moving message in honor of World Down Syndrome Day (March 21).

On Sunday (March 21), the Soul actor took to Instagram to honor his sister, who died last October. “My heart, my breath … my soul,” he captioned a photo of Dixon. “I hear your laughter in the house… I hear you sliding down the stairs… my heart… my breath… my soul… I love u Deondra my angel #worlddownsyndromeday2021.”

Dixon, who suffered from Down syndrome, sadly passed away at the age of 36. Foxx revealed the news of her sudden passing on social media last year.

“My heart is shattered into a million pieces. My beautiful loving sister DeOndra has transitioned,” the “Fall For Your Type” singer wrote. “I say transitioned because she will always be alive — anyone who knew my sis knew that she was a bright light.”

“I can’t tell you how many times we have had parties at the house where she has got on the dance floor and stolen the show. Even gave her boyfriend @chrisbrownofficial a run for his money,” he joked.

He then went on to share the special memories he had with her, including her appearing in his “Blame It” video and dancing with him at the Grammys. “DeOndra you have left a hole in my heart, but I will fill it with all of the memories that you gave me,” Foxx wrote. “I love you with every ounce of me. Our family is shattered, but we will put the pieces back together with your love. Y’all please keep my family in your prayers.”

Back in 2011, Dixon was named the Ambassador for the Global Down Syndrome Foundation. She also competed in the Special Olympics for over nine years. Once she graduated high school, she left Texas and went to live with her brother and other family members in California.
