Showtime is set to produce a limited series about Trump supporters’ deadly attack on the Capitol, Variety reports. The show is helmed by Shane Salerno and Billy Ray, the co-creators of the political drama “The Comey Rule.” The limited series was released on Showtime last September and analyzed the early relationship between Donald Trump and FBI Director James Comey and was based on Comey’s book, A Higher Loyalty.

According to Variety, Ray will write and direct the upcoming series, while Salerno will executive produce. Josh McLaughlin will also serve as an executive producer on the project, with Showtime producing.

The outlet reports that the series will “examine and explore multiple points of view” of the events that led up to Trump supporters storming the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. The series will include Trump’s final days in office, the riot itself and the ramifications, including ongoing investigations by the FBI and Congress.

According to the Justice Department, over 300 rioters have been arrested since the deadly attack and many have been charged with injuring Capitol Police officers. Most recently, two men —  George Tanios and Julian Khater — were arrested in connection with the death of Capitol officer Brian Sicknick, who died from injuries sustained during the riot. Authorities believe the two suspects used bear spray against Sicknick, based on video taken during the attack.

On Wednesday (March 17), the House of Representatives passed legislation that will honor the Capitol Police force and Metropolitan Police Department with Congressional Gold Medals for their efforts to defend the Capitol.

“Jan. 6 was a day of horror and heartbreak,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said at the time. “It was also a moment of extraordinary heroism. That day the United States Capitol Police force put themselves between us and the violence.”

So far, neither a title nor air date has been announced for the upcoming Capitol riot series.
