Tiger Woods has returned to his South Florida home as he continues to recover from his horrific single-car crash. The 45-year-old was released from the hospital this week after undergoing surgery for his severe leg injuries.

“Happy to report that I am back home and continuing my recovery,” Woods announced on Tuesday (March 16). “I am so grateful for the outpouring of support and encouragement that I have received over the past few weeks.”

On Twitter, Woods further thanked “the incredible surgeons, doctors, nurses and staff at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.”

“You have all taken such great care of me and I cannot thank you enough,” he added. “I will be recovering at home and working on getting stronger every day.”

Woods was hosting the Genesis Invitational tournament last month when he was involved in the single-car crash. As reported by REVOLT, the pro golfer’s SUV hit a curb and flipped over, causing him to be extradited out of the vehicle and rushed to the hospital. Woods underwent emergency surgery after the wreck for what doctors described as “significant orthopedic injuries to his right lower extremity.”

A statement from Woods at the time confirmed he suffered multiple “open fractures” to his right leg. During surgery, he had a rod inserted in his tibia and screws and pins placed in his foot and ankle.

Woods was reportedly transferred to a new hospital last week, but the World Golf Hall of Famer had not updated fans on his well-being since Feb. 28.

Last month, several fellow golfers wore Woods’ signature look of a red shirt and black pants to the WGC-Workday Championship. On Twitter, Woods said it was “hard to explain how touching” the tribute was to him and thanked his colleagues for “helping me get through this tough time.”
