Mir Fontane has dropped off his latest body of work, the freshly released Melody Monster. The new project includes 14 new tracks and no features, assuring his bars are front and center. One of the songs “Call J. Cole,” sees the independent rapper displaying his lyrical prowess to catch the attention of the A-list emcee:

I’m the face of my city, I can’t help it that I’m litty/ First they love me then they hate me, man, take that shit back to Philly/ I’m ridin’ with my n***as, sure, I go bucket to a Bentley, bustin’ moves in Chinatown, it was just me, José, and Henry/ Now all I got is the memories, they killed my cousin, my kinny. Now it’s fuck both my kidneys, all this syrup, and Remy/ Had to cop me a semi ‘cause niggas plottin’ to end me, bro is strеssin’, gettin’ skinny, then he bought a P with thе stemi/ I know the game, I play it well, and I’m playin’ for keeps

Mir has made headlines recently when he and producer Pesos accused Cardi B of plagiarizing one of their songs. As previously reported by REVOLT, the song in question is Cardi’s recent “Up” hit, as it sounded noticeably similar to Mir’s “Stuck.” Cardi has since addressed the situation, saying “If i get inspired by a song, I wouldn’t mind giving a percentage or couple of thousand, but I never Hurd if this man. I’m glad while I was recording this song in August, I was playing wit the hook on this live.”

Mir has always proudly repped his South Jersey roots. In a previous interview, he detailed how growing up in Jersey fueled his desire to be an artist and put his city on:

“If anything, Jersey’s lack of a musical scene pretty much helped me create something and the fact that we were back against the ropes and had to jump into somebody else’s space, it’s kinda like you’re the outsider. We embraced it and took that title. We created a brand. We built an entire fan base off the fact we’re, for lack of a better word, the lost kids. But now we’re here.”
