As Price gears up to unveil his new F.O.E.S. project on Mar. 26, he shares two new singles to hold supporters over until then. First came “Amistad” and then the Bas and Wyclef Jean-assisted “Selfish” came following suit. On the latter track, Price delivers an opening verse that’s an homage to putting yourself first:

Wake up and I tell myself I’m amazing, tell myself that I’m worthy/ I put too many negative thoughts in my mind, until I realized they ain’t serve me/ I deserve everything life has to offer, I gave my fans my life like an author/ I gave my wife my life and now I’m off her/ I even gave my life to Christ at the altar, feel like I exhausted myself was often faulted for the God I am to think I almost lost it/ But I held it down, no held it up. I can’t be failing bruh

The link up for the “Selfish” track is something Price has been thinking about for a while, and he’s grateful it came into fruition. “Making “Selfish” with Bas and Wyclef was a dream come true,” he says via press release. He even spent some time traveling and rocking shows with the Dreamville staple himself. “I got the chance to tour with Bas overseas and Wyclef was one of my biggest influences growing up. The creation process was amazing. Even though quarantine, we were still able to come together and create something we all love and we hope the people will love it just as much as we do.”

Prior to this release was Price’s CLRD. project back in Oct. 2020. The eight-track project included features from names like Candice Boyd, Kota the Friend, and even a whole interlude dedicated to G Perico.
