The 63rd annual Grammy Awards ceremony is going down this weekend, and the likes of Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Roddy Ricch and Doja Cat will be taking the stage to perform their biggest hits. Though the Recording Academy was successful in lining up some of the hottest artists in music, there was one artist they were unable to book.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Beyoncé was on the list of desired performances, but she declined the offer. “It’s unfortunate because she’s such a big part of the Recording Academy,” said Recording Academy Interim Chief Executive Harvey Mason. “We absolutely wish we had her onstage.”

It is not clear why the Black is King star — who is nominated for nine Grammys — was uninterested in performing or whether she will show up to music’s biggest night, but in the event that she doesn’t attend, the “Drunk in Love” vocalist probably won’t be the only one missing from the audience.

The Weeknd — who was snubbed from any Grammy nods this year — expressed his belief that the award show was “corrupt” and announced his plans to boycott the event. “Because of the secret committees, I will no longer allow my label to submit my music to the Grammys,” the “Can’t Feel My Face” singer wrote.

The news that Beyoncé rejected an offer to perform at the Grammys comes days after an additional act was added to the roster of artists scheduled to take the stage on Sunday, March 14.

As previously reported by REVOLT, Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak — who took to Twitter in hopes to secure a slot for their debut performance as Silk Sonic — will be blessing the Grammys stage, most likely with the live rendition of their recently-released hit, “Leave the Door Open.”
