Sainvil has dropped off his latest single “California Raindrops,” an ode to a sensual time with someone he’s dealing with. The Alamo Records artist states the song was inspired by “past experiences in the honeymoon phase.” The uptempo track is produced by Charlie Shuffler and Rio Leyva.

Last year, Sainvil treated his fans to an EP and also his collaboration with Melii “HBK.”  In October, he released his 2020 Was Hijacked EP and the seven-track project included guest features from Boogie and Melii. Sainvil’s first offering of 2021 was his recent single “Need 2.” Tinted with with hues of blue and orange, the official visual helps to accurately depict the foggy line between love and hate.

Following that was the video for “HBK.” The MARZ-directed visual sees Sainvil and Melii battling to fight the tension between them, but they ultimately give in at the end and they can’t help but to let their inhibitions go. Via press release, Sainvil states the song’s title and video are a metaphor for the guy who desperately wants to be emotionally unattached as well as belong to the streets, but in actuality, he just wants to devote to that special someone.

In a recent interview, Sainvil details the two things he looks for when he selects a beat. His second reason reflects “California Raindrops” perfectly, as it was able to transport him to an actual place upon listening:

Anything that I think doesn’t sound like two things: Anything that doesn’t sound like anything I’ve heard on the radio and for the last two years, anything that makes me see a place. I feel like the number one thing for me to get into the vibe is, if I can’t hear myself on it with four different deliveries, I don’t want it. What I mean by four deliveries is, I’m looking for something that has so much sonic movement that I can attack it from different angles. It’s all about the product.
