G Perico has been on fire during the last couple of months. In addition to releasing the projects Free, Welcome To The Land, and Lover Boy Slim, the California emcee also dropped loose cuts like “Pull It” with 1TakeJay and “Keep Killin” with Rucci. This week, Perico reaches back to Free and delivers a new visual for “Never Made Statements,” a Larry Jayy-produced cut that sees him rapping about remaining solid despite transgressions over a sample of Mary J. Blige’s “Love No Limit”:

“From the bottom, take this shit straight to the top, every 30 days, a couple hundred grand in the pot, what’s a team if the team ain’t witchu, better get your shit together ‘fore the game get rid of you/

One of the realest lines, time to kick this shit in gear, it’s go get it time, snowboards in the winter, I don’t take this many risks for me to not be livin’/”

The accompanying clip begins with what looks like actual footage of Perico in court during a past sentencing, before things switch to him in the middle of an interrogation in the present day. Viewers can also see him riding around his city, interspersed with close up shots of the many locals that passes by.

In a past interview with REVOLT, G Perico spoke on how he’s been putting positive energy back into his community, especially given his past:

“I just did so much wrong around here, for me to get some type of success, or just do what I do, to just leave, I don’t ever think I’d be creating the right energy doing that. I’m like the example around here, like even if I don’t make a million dollars, I can put that mindset in somebody else that’s walking by, and one of these kids, or one of my little homies…”
