Following years of collaborations and production for others, Jimmy Edgar has made his return to solo work with Cheetah Bend, out now via Innovative Leisure. The new project includes 14 new tracks a vast range of features as a testament to his versatility. These assists include names like Danny Brown, the late SOPHIE, Matt Ox, Millie Go Lightly, B La B, and 24hrs. He prepped fans before the drop by releasing “NOTICE,” the 24hrs-assisted cut where the Atlanta rapper slides over the moody and bolstering production from Edgar:

I got all my chains on, I got all my chains on. We make a movie, we pop out./ I made a million and dropped out. Noticed that she don’t wanna fuck with me. Last week she didn’t have no luck with me./ Know that I always got racks on me. Know that they always come back for me. Know that they always come back to me. Know that they always come back.

As a genre-bending producer, Jimmy Edgar is drawing on both his vibrant discography as a producer on the edge of electronic music (including collaborations with Hudson Mohawk and Machinedrum) as well as his increasing presence in hip-hop circles (including recent productions for Dawn Richards, Vince Staples, OG Maco, and more) to cook up his new project. Cheetah Bend is actually Jimmy Edgar’s first solo project in nine years.

In 2020 he dropped his WHO I BE project, a 9-track body of work in collaboration with B La B. More recently, he produced a track for Jose Guapo and HoodRich Pablo Juan titled “Can’t Stand It” that dropped last month.
