Trae tha Truth is continuing to give back to the people of Texas following the deadly winter storm that ravaged the state last week.

According to ABC 13, the Houston-bred emcee and his Relief Gang initiative gifted over 250 families from his hometown with free gas on Monday (Feb. 22). Additionally, the families also received free food and cases of bottled water. Food plates with chicken wings, red beans, rice and cornbread were served.

Last week, REVOLT reported that the “Betta Believe It” rapper bought food and delivered it to local victims of the winter storm who had been without electricity.

Last week, rolling blackouts caused local restaurants and grocery stores to shut down, leaving many people without an option to restock on food and drinks. “Me and the team out here as we speak trying to purchase any food [and] collect any meals we can, so we can go out and give it to these families that have been without power for the past two, three days,” Trae previously said in an Instagram video.

On Feb. 17, the Relief Gang purchased meals from Jack in the Box and other open restaurants and delivered them to tenants. The 40-year-old took to social media to urge others to buy and distribute food — if they were able to.

“Right now, it’s all about coming together,” he said. “All the homies that’s sitting around, that’s able, if you can go to some spot and grab 10, 15 burgers [or] sandwiches and get it to somebody who needs it… Man, I’m asking y’all to do that along with us.”

DJ Mr. Rogers, who is Trae’s Relief Gang partner, distributed generators to families who were in need during the storms. As of Feb. 21, over 30 people lost their lives due to the severe weather.
