Janet Jackson knows her loyal fanbase supports everything she does. After recently receiving mountains of heartwarming messages from her fans, the legendary artist admits that the overwhelming amount of love from around the world brought tears to her eyes.

In an emotional video posted to her social media on Saturday (Feb. 13), Jackson appeared in a mask as she thanks everyone who reached out to her with supportive messages over the past few weeks. The famed singer also praised her followers for making her third studio LP Control top the charts shortly after celebrating the 35th anniversary of her historic album’s release.

“I was at home just the other day by myself and I began to cry,” Jackson said in the video. “I was crying because I was so thankful for all that God has blessed me with, all that he has given me. I’m so thankful for Him being in my life. And I am so thankful for all of you being in my life.”

The video comes just days after Justin Timberlake issued an apology to both Jackson and Britney Spears. In a lengthy social media post, the pop singer assumed responsibility for his past “ignorance” and admitted he reaped the benefits ”from a system that condones misogyny and racism.” The “That’s The Way Love Goes” singer didn’t acknowledge Timberlake’s apology in her video. Instead, she showed love to her fans.

“You’re so special to me,” Jackson said. “And I want to thank all of you for making Control number one once again after 35 years. I never, never in a million years, I would never think that this would happen. I really appreciate you and I love you so, so much. Thank you.”

The “Rhythm Nation” singer has always reciprocated the love and respect she receives. Last December, Jackson offered her support for Teyana Taylor after the singer spoke about retiring from music.
