The rioters who participated in the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 are still being apprehended by authorities. After numerous people around the country have been captured by the FBI, another rioter has been arrested.

According to a report from the Gothamist published Friday (Jan. 22), a man named Dominick Madden was arrested by the FBI on Thursday night at his home in Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn, New York. He was apprehended for his alleged role in the insurrection at the Capitol after he was spotted in several videos in a blue QAnon sweater carrying around the American flag in and outside of the Capitol building.

Madden had previously worked for the Department of Sanitation of New York before he made the decision to join the insurrectionists in Washington, D.C. In an interview with the department, the 43-year-old trash worker told his superiors he had called out sick on the day of the insurrection. The DSNY has formally suspended Madden without pay for ditching his duties to join in on the riots.

The DSNY isn’t the only department with workers who were at the insurrection. The Fire Department of New York and the NYPD are also investigating claims that their own officers had participated in the riots inside the U.S. Capitol building in D.C. Outside of New York, off-duty officers from Texas, Pennslyvania, and New Hampshire were also identified at the riots. Two officers from Seattle, Washington had been put on administrative leave for their role in the riots.

Madden joins the slew of rioters who have been arrested for storming the Capitol building while Congress was in session to certify President Joe Biden’s win. For the most part, the suspects have been charged with breaching a restricted building without permission and disorderly conduct. However, authorities have warned that other charges could be added later on as the investigation continues.
