Dr. Dre is already back in the studio after being hospitalized for a brain aneurysm earlier this month. On Friday (Jan. 15), the legendary producer was released from the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and returned home, where he’s reportedly been receiving 24-hour medical supervision as doctors continue to look for what caused the aneurysm.

The recent health scare doesn’t seem to have slowed Dre down, though, according to a new Instagram post from producer Dem Jointz. On Saturday (Jan. 16), the Aftermath Entertainment affiliate shared a photo of Dre, himself, The D.O.C., Trevor Lawrence Jr. and others working together in front of a mixing board.

“And we back!” Jointz wrote. The producer also suggested what the collaborators were working on during the session, writing, “#Detox21.”

Detox is the long-awaited studio album that Dre first announced to fans back in 2002. The project was reportedly delayed so that Dre could produce other works for Eminem and 50 Cent, and in 2015 Dre said he had mostly scrapped Detox all together. Later that year, Dre opted to give fans Compton instead.

The few details known about Detox have emerged through various interviews over the years. Back in August, Akon spoke with VladTV about the Detox recording sessions and said that Dre’s perfectionism is what’s preventing the album from being released.

“I don’t think [Dre] understands his power sometimes… I think he’s gonna win no matter what because he’s Dre! Just drop that bitch!” Akon said. “Like, he got bangers though. I know for a fact I did a couple of bangers that the world probably will never hear. But man, from what I did hear when we were working together and I was submitting records for ’em; man, they got so much heat. But he’s just a perfectionist — too perfect.”

Two months later, Page Kennedy claimed on Twitter that he’d listened to Detox and said the album contained features from Eminem.
