Fans and followers hopped on social media on Sunday (Jan. 17) to wish Former First Lady Michelle Obama a happy 57th birthday. One of the many celebratory posts came from her husband, Former President Barack Obama.

On Twitter, Barack shared a sweet tribute and throwback photo of his wife to mark her special day.

“Happy birthday to my love, my partner, and my best friend,” his tweet read. “Every moment with you is a blessing. Love you, Miche.”

The Obamas tied the knot in 1992 and celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary back in October. In an interview with PEOPLE about his new memoir, A Promised Land, Barack revealed the pressures that his presidency had put on his marriage.

“During the time we were there, Michelle felt this underlying tension,” he said. “The pressure, stress, of needing to get everything right; to be ‘on’ at every moment. There were times where I think she was frustrated or sad or angry, but knew that I had Afghanistan or the financial crisis to worry about, so she would tamp it down.”

“It was like a big exhale right after we left office,” he continued. “It took some time to talk about how she had felt. Once [the presidency] was done, there was possibility of her opening up… but more importantly just her being able to let out a breath and relax.”

The father of two added that Michelle became “more relaxed and more joyful” after they left office.

“That allowed us to just enjoy the deep love that comes with a marriage this long,” he added.

Since leaving the White House, the couple has embarked on a number of film and publishing projects. Most recently, the Obamas announced their forthcoming comedy series “The G Word with Adam Conover,” which will detail Donald Trump’s transition into the White House in 2016.
