When word spread that Trump supporters helmed a siege at Capitol Hill, 50 Cent took to social media to address the riots. The “Candy Shop” emcee shared an image of several law enforcement officers guarding the U.S. Capitol during a Black Lives Matter demonstration in an attempt to bring attention to the different measures taken against Black protesters and the Capitol-storming rioters.

The photo was flagged by Instagram, prompting 50 to inquire why. “So the IG God’s don’t like my BLM post,” he wrote. “I don’t know why this was against any rules.” A look at the rapper’s initial post explained that it was “missing content” that “could mislead people.”

The “Power” star was one of many celebrities to react to the Capitol Hill insurrection.

As rioters ran amuck in the government building, Kevin Hart captioned his Instagram post, “[Two] completely different America’s that we are living in. If these people were black they would have all been shot dead…Why can’t we see this situation handled the same way that we have seen our people handled repeatedly?… When the armed officers are supposed to use force they don’t. Shit is fucking SAD!!!!!”

In Meek Mill’s post, he wrote, “[The U.S.] might be the most racist country in the world …..lost hope seeing this today!!!!!!”

Cardi B — who is known to give her take on various political occurrences — also chimed in on the conversation, mentioning the absence of the National Guard.

“Where the National Guards? The irony is pretty funny………,” she tweeted at the time. “Weren’t people just wild animals in the summer for demanding justice and now?……Let me just watch.”

On Monday (Jan. 11), former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund — who recently announced his resignation — explained that he made six attempts to request the National Guard when he learned Donald Trump was holding a demonstration. His pleas were rejected by House and Senate security officials.
