On Tuesday (Jan. 5) evening, the world learned that iconic hip hop producer Dr. Dre was being hospitalized in ICU in a Los Angeles hospital after suffering from a brain aneurysm on Monday (Jan. 4). Since this shocking news broke, friends and fans of the star have taken to social media to offer their blessings for a speedy recovery. It looks like they’ve been working because the legend has broken his silence about his hospitalization.

On his personal Instagram account, Dre captioned a black and white photo of himself with the message: “Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes. I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!” Take a look at the post below.

When news of Dre’s condition surfaced, TMZ reported, “Sources connected to Dre and with direct knowledge tell us, Dre suffered the aneurysm Monday and was rushed by ambulance to Cedars and was taken directly to ICU, where he remains Tuesday.”

The site added, “Our sources say the 55-year-old music mogul is stable and lucid, but doctors don’t know what caused the bleeding and they are doing a battery of tests.”

Soon afterward, fellow music industry artists such his friends Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg, as well as Juicy J, Missy Elliott and more sent prayers Dre’s way. Even Cube’s son, O’Shea Jackson, shared that he and his entire family were praying for him to pull through. “I didn’t want this to be my first tweet of 2021 but I had to stop working just to say I just prayed for Dr. Dre and his family,” he tweeted. “Me and my family are with you.”
