Shocking news broke on Tuesday (Jan. 5) evening when TMZ revealed that legendary hip hop producer Dr. Dre had to be rushed to the hospital on Monday (Jan. 4) after suffering from a brain aneurysm. He’s still in ICU in Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California while doctors perform a number of tests on him.

“Sources connected to Dre and with direct knowledge tell us, Dre suffered the aneurysm Monday and was rushed by ambulance to Cedars and was taken directly to ICU, where he remains Tuesday,” TMZ claims.

The site continues, “Our sources say the 55-year-old music mogul is stable and lucid, but doctors don’t know what caused the bleeding and they are doing a battery of tests.”

Naturally, this report sent millions of hip hop fans into a panic. Social media posts from supporters of Dre began pouring onto our timelines, as everyone was wishing him a speedy recovery. But, not only were fans sending good vibes Dre’s way, his friends and collaborators in the music biz were, as well.

N.W.A.’s own Ice Cube took some time to share his well wishes for Dre with a tweet that read, “Send your love and prayers to the homie Dr. Dre.” This message also included a photo of the two of them posing when Cube was given his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

See that tweet below.

Cube’s son, O’Shea Jackson, even offered his prayers. “I didn’t want this to be my first tweet of 2021 but I had to stop working just to say I just prayed for Dr. Dre and his family,” he tweeted. “Me and my family are with you.”

Other industry heads such as Juicy J reacted to the sudden news, too. In a tweet of his own, the Three 6 Mafia star, along with some prayer emojis, said, “Noooooo not Dr Dre praying for a speedy recovery.”
