Uncle Murda unveils his βRap Up 2020β
The yearly recap can be found on Murdaβs latest project βDonβt Come Outside, Vol. 3.β
Today, Uncle Murda marked the new year by releasing the third installment of his Donβt Come Outside mixtape series, which sees 12 cuts and additional appearances from Mysonne, Lil Tjay, Benny The Butcher, Conway The Machine, Que Banz, and more. The biggest standout from the new project is βRap Up 2020,β Uncle Murdaβs yearly recap of the year in hip hop and beyond. Produced by Great John, the New York veteran turns his subject matter inward, reflecting on his and his familyβs life in the midst of COVID-19 and other struggles β including the shocking loss of one of the worldβs greatest athletes of all time:
βIβm a fan, heavenly father, but right now Iβm booing you, what did Kobe, Gigi, and them other passengers do to you, my condolences at this time is all that I could offer, Kobe got me out here spending more time with my daughter/
Taking Kobe from us had the whole world stressed, you couldβve took an average player and not one of the bestβ¦/β
In addition to the more reflective bits, Uncle Murda also takes aim at certain peers who have made news headlines throughout 2020 for more than music β including Megan Thee Stallion, Tory Lanez, 6ix9ine, Funkmaster Flex, Boosie Badazz, and even Jeezy β who found himself on the receiving end of some of Gucci Maneβs more stinging barbs during their βVerzuzβ battle.
At about this time last year, Uncle Murda released Donβt Come Outside, Vol. 2, which saw 12 tracks and features from many of the aforementioned artists, alongside Dave East, Derez DeβShon, Jadakiss, and Styles P. The first installment of Donβt Come Outside was released in 2017.
