Last month, Tinashe released a holiday-themed EP titled Comfort and Joy, which saw seven tracks perfect for one’s Christmas celebration. In addition to the short project, the California star also revealed a visual for the track “O Holy Night,” a reimagining of the classic carol hymn covered by the likes of Mariah Carey, the “Glee” cast, and many others in the past:

“O Holy night, the stars are brightly shining, it is the night of our dear Savior’s birth, long lay the world in sin and error pining/

’Til He appeared and the soul felt its worth, a thrill of hope the weary world rejoices, for yonder breaks a new and glorious morn…/”

The accompanying visual was first premiered during a taping of “Good Morning America” for their Christmas Day broadcast, and sees the breathtaking songstress performing the track in a cathedral, decked out in garb that looks as if it was made from a lifetime’s worth of diamonds.

Comfort and Joy follows Tinashe’s July release “Rascal (Superstar),” a Sage The Gemini-produced loose cut that was created during the creation of last year’s Songs For You. That album was her first independent release since parting ways with RCA, and boasted 15 cuts with additional assists from G-Eazy, 6LACK, Ms Banks, and MAKJ. More recently, Tinashe could also be found contributing to tracks like Iggy Azalea’s “Dance Like Nobody’s Watching,” ZHU’s “Only,” THEY.’s “Play Fight,” Channel Tres’ “Take Your Time,” and Buddy’s “Glitch.”

Fans can enjoy the visual for Tinashe’s “O Holy Night” below. In related news, Tinashe also revealed on social media that she is still in the studio crafting future hits (“Been working on lots of new stuff, you know me…”), leading many to hope for an official follow-up to Songs For You in 2021. One can only hope.
